Primary Position Duties:

    • Work with national, regional, and local military recruiting commands to identify and engage the local most senior recruiting officer for each service at all OCS Ceremonies locations across the country (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Primary responsibility for the year-round engagement, communication, training, and support of all OCS Community Leaders in the planning of their OCS Ceremony
    • Primary responsibility for the engagement, communication and event planning with all OCS nationally operated ceremonies, to include the hiring and supervision of all OCS Ceremony Coordinators
    • Work with national, regional, and local Veteran Serving Organizations to identify and engage the local VSO organization at all OCS Ceremonies locations across the country (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Primary responsibility for working with and supervising all outside vendors hired by OCS to assist with the planning and operation of OCS nationally operated ceremonies
    • Work with OCS Senior Director of Corporate Partnership to identify and secure businesses (national, regional, local) and other organizations (e.g., colleges) interested in community investment opportunities to support OCS ceremonies and programs (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Identify and promote new and innovative sponsorship opportunities to support OCS ceremonies and programs (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Oversee the design and production of all sponsorship collateral to support OCS ceremonies and programs (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Maintain and update OCS CRM (Salesforce) with contacts (sponsors, recruiter and volunteers) for all OCS Ceremonies locations across the country (including all OCS nationally operated ceremonies)
    • Work with all OCS Community Leaders to ensure sponsorship deliverables are executed as planned and promised
    • Attend and actively participate in weekly OCS National Staff Meetings
    • Assist with the operation of all OCS nationally operated ceremonies, to including attending events, where needed.

Education or Skills:

  • EDUCATION:
    Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent record of professional achievement and qualifications with a
    demonstrated track record of success.

    EXPERIENCE:
    • Three-to-five years prior nonprofit or for-profit sales.
    • Event planning and/or project management.
    • Demonstrated success in a team environment.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer communication skills.
    • Former military experience and/or working with Military Veterans Organizations is a plus.

     

Position Requirements:

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong sales skills, including writing and closing sponsorship proposals
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Working knowledge and experience with Salesforce is a plus
    • A willingness to learn/update skills via online training and/or OCS staff support.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Strong personal computer skills with an emphasis on experience with Microsoft Office software applications.
